STEAMER SHIP SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS
-
Our Pilot shall be Jesus Christ.
-
Our Compass shall be the Bible.
-
Our Anchor shall be the Church.
These
three will guide you on an exciting adventure and bring you, at journeys end, into
the harbor, safe and secure.
The Steamer Sunday school class starts
gathering at 9:15 AM, shortly after the end of the first service, for coffee and
fellowship in rooms 208 and 209. At 9:30 we have announcements and at 9:40 we have a
teacher lead us in a lesson and discussion.
The class is made up of older adults, even
though the class started out as a young couples group in 1956 and for some reason we all
got older. The class has both couples and singles that attend.
In addition to Sunday school we like to get
together and party. The class is divided into five watches with each watch planning
two parties per year. Some of the members meet at 6:00 pm on
Tuesdays at a different restaurant each week.
The purpose of the Steamer ship is:
- To encourage Christian faith and practice in
every home; to help families progress in Christian living.
- To become involved in the struggle for
social justice.
- To interest those outside the church in
uniting with the church.
- To provide the opportunity for Christian
fellowship.
- To develop leadership for the church.
- To support and serve the church in its total
ministry and mission.
The Steamer
Ship is affiliated with the Kansas Presbyterian Mariners. |
