Core Values of Grace Presbyterian Church

SERVICE: We believe the work of the church should be carried out through team based, gift driven ministries.
  • We believe every member of the church has a spiritual gift.
  • We believe the church should operate as a unified community of servants where men and women, boys and girls steward their spiritual gifts.
  • We believe women and men who have the gift of leadership should lead the church

WORSHIP: We believe worship is the heart of the Christian community.

  • We believe biblically based teaching and preaching is essential for living a Christ centered life.
  • We believe worship joyfully ascribes all praise and honor, glory and power to the Triune God, whom alone we serve.
  • We believe it is essential for Christian to engage in communal worship, joining with sisters and brothers to hear God's Word, receive the Word enacted in the Sacraments, to discover the Word in the world, and be sent to follow the Word in the world. We believe it is essential for Christian to engage in daily personal worship, Bible study, mediation and prayer.

EVANGELISM: We believe we are called to share the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ as his evangelists to our community, nation and world.

  • We believe each and every human being is precious in God's sight and in turn ought to be precious in the sight of the church.
  • We believe the church should be culturally relevant while remaining doctrinally pure.
  • We strive to support both nonbelievers and believers in their journey to develop a personal relationship with Christ.
  • We believe every member is gifted with his or her own style of evangelism and it is the responsibility of the church to help them discover and use this gift.

DISCIPLESHIP:  We believe we are called to be fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

  • We believe every devoted follower of Jesus Christ needs to manifest authenticity and yearn for continuous spiritual growth.
  • We believe loving Christ-centered relationships should permeate every aspect of church life.
  • We believe excellence honors God and inspires people.
  • We believe Christ followers are called to honor God with good stewardship of all their resources, supporting the church with their time and talents and using the precedent of the tithe as a goal to reach or exceed as God prospers.

CARING COMMUNITY:  We believe life was meant by God to be lived in community.

  • We believe the church is called to welcome, support and love all people.
  • We believe God alone is Lord of conscience and heart.
  • We believe every person must wrestle with his or her own faith and grow in their relationship with God, neighbor and self.
